When Mercy Hits the Street, Part 4

CCEF Conference Hope for the Suffering

Workshop: This is part 4 of a 4 part talk. In this continuation of part 3, Jeff Black argues that Jesus is at work and he calls us into that work with him. He equips us with his Spirit to be his hands and feet in the world. Jeff Black reminds us that the gospel brings both comfort to the disconsolate and discomfort to those who are too comfortable. He walks us through some nuts and bolts of how to do mercy ministry, including: 1.) Distinguish between simple poverty and deeper poverty 2.) Consider causes of poverty 3.) Do not separate word and deed 4.) Outline a ministry plan for each individual. Key Scripture: Acts 1:4-11
