In The Valley of the Shadow

CCEF Conference Hope for the Suffering

Workshop: Sharing part of her own story of a diagnosis of cancer, Jayne Clark reminds us of God’s character. He is the Father of compassion and God of all comfort. He is not surprised by our crises, he is in the valley with us and he is sovereign over the outcome of our suffering. From the perspective of her own suffering she shares practical ways to apply scripture to our pain, to grieve before the face of God and to depend on the body of Christ while in need. She gives testimony to God’s means of grace when she was so overwhelmed, she didn’t feel like she could read the Bible or pray. Key Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4; Psalm 139:16; Proverbs 3:5-6; Ecclesiastes 7:14; Isaiah 50:10; Psalm 73:21-26; Hebrews 7:25; Luke 22:31-32; 1 Peter 1:3
