Hard Pressed but not Losing Heart

CCEF Conference Hope for the Suffering

Workshop: Paul, the author of 2 Corinthians 4, is not only inspired by the Holy Spirit as he writes, but he is also a credible sufferer. In this chapter Paul is responding to accusations from the Corinthians. He educates the Corinthian church on the true definition of “glory.” Christ himself, the suffering servant, is the picture of God’s glory. Smith talks about the implications of our union with Christ in suffering. He discusses “glory weights” that outweigh the current, worldly suffering that we experience and give us hope and meaning in the midst of struggle. Smith gives us practical ways to strengthen our focus on the eternal weight of glory. Key Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7, 2 Corinthians 3-4; Exodus 33-34; Isaiah 6; 2 Timothy 2:22, 6:11; 1 Peter 1:4 *Quality Issue: This audio has quality issues from 18:57-19:15 but rectifies itself and continues to be occasionally choppy in the minutes following.
